Concept-Based Learning



Lynn Erikson, in her book on concept-based learning, is asking teachers to think "beyond the facts." The author is not suggesting that facts are unimportant or that facts don't matter, but that simply teaching facts in the traditional skill/drill/kill model of schooling will not move students towards the higher level thinking the 21st century will require of them. I highly recommend this book to any beginning teacher.
